Smart meter

A product fitted with the smart meter feature reads the household electricity meter and broadcasts its data over the mesh network: instantaneous power, consumption index, tariff period and meter status.

The product drives no load. The products that use its data listen to its publications and decide according to their own configuration, for instance to switch a load on during off-peak hours.

Reading the meter is specific to each product: for the Linky meter, see SER65085 - Emetteur Radio Linky.

Instantaneous power

📋 Requirement: The Mobile App shows the household’s instantaneous power on the product page, refreshed every 10 s while the page is open.

Consumption index

The product publishes the meter’s timestamped consumption index through the total-energy-count property. The Mobile App and the IoTHub build the consumption history from it.

📋 Requirement: The published index equals the meter’s consumption index, the one published by the distribution system operator.

📋 Requirement: The index is published every 15 minutes.

📋 Requirement: Index publications fall on quarter hours, at minutes 0, 15, 30 and 45.

Status register

The smart-meter-status-register register carries the meter status: off-peak / peak dry contact, overvoltage, reference power exceeded, supply mode. Its bits are described by the smart-meter-register characteristic.

Meter parameters

The meter parameters are feature properties: meter mode (smart-meter-driver-mode), subscribed power (smart-meter-contract-subscribed-power), tariff contract name (smart-meter-tariff-contract-name), current tariff period (smart-meter-tariff-period-raw-code), full status register (smart-meter-status-register) and wiring type (smart-meter-supply-wiring-mode).

📋 Requirement: The product page shows the instantaneous power, the current tariff period and the dry contact state.

📋 Requirement: The product settings page shows the subscribed power, the tariff contract name, the meter mode, the wiring type (single-phase or three-phase) and the supply mode (consumption or production).

Consumption history

📋 Requirement: With an installed and working gateway, the Mobile App shows the consumption history by day, month and year.
